Baja California Medical Tourism Association

What is BCMTA?

What created the need for BCMTA?

Through e-mails, letters and telephone calls, the majority of questions have been –

“I have heard that we can save a lot of money obtaining medical services in Baja, but how do we go about choosing a doctor or hospital?” And, “How do we know if they are qualified?”

Comments are qui te often –

“There are a lot of medical services listed in the web, but now days anyone can put up a beautiful web site that looks tempting. The doctors may be good or even great, but they of course will promote themselves, so how can we find out if they are in fact any good?”

The questions and comments came about during 2008, from listeners of the radio program, The Baja Connection with Patrick Osio.

Wednesday’s programs were dedicated to Medical Services in Baja with interviews with doctors, medical administrators, health insurance company executives whose US based companies pay benefits for services in Baja and US patients who have used services in Baja, the greatest majority who were very satisfied with the services. These patients verifie d the difficulty in obtaining credible, reliable and unbiased information.

Thus BCMTA was organized.

BCMTA is a State of California non-profit mutual benefit association. It is the only association outside the Republic of Mexico totally dedicated to advocating and promoting medical services, including veterinarian, for the entire state of Baja California. BCMTA as a non-profit California association will become the “Seal of Approval” to the general public seeking medical services information and referrals in the Western United States.
