Baja California Medical Tourism Association

Why become a member of the Baja California Medical Tourism Association (BCMTA)?

BCMTA was formed as a State of California non-profit mutual benefit association, just like a Chamber of Commerce that works on behalf of its members.  It is the only association outside of Mexico totally dedicated to advocating and promoting medical services, including veterinarian, for the entire state of Baja California. BCMTA as a non-profit California association will become the “Seal of Approval” to the general public seeking medical services information and referrals in the Western United States.

Mission Statement:

  • To provide medical service seekers access to Baja California's highest quality, affordable and compassionate Medical Services.

Vision:

  • To make available a network of highly accredited health care providers dedicated to the practice of providing treatment with healing in mind and dedicated to wellness programs.

Values:

  • The practice of medicine requires of its practitioners advanced level of competence and above reproach moral values. BCMTA considers for membership only those who meet this code of values.

BCMTA members will stand apart from non-members as conditions for membership includes verifiable credentials, experience, competence and involvement in continuing education. This will secure the reputation of each member and allow for the promotion of members as leaders in the industry.

Membership dues include individual benefits:

  • Participation in BCMTA’s various committees. Committees will be organized in accordance to the needs and recommendations of members.
  • Member’s Profile on the BCMTA Website along with contact information
  • Patient referrals – BCMTA will promote working exclusively with its members as they meet a defined set of standards. Inquiries are referred to members.
  • Networking – BCMTA will be active in a number of strategic organizations and chambers in Southern California. Members will be invited to attend networking meetings.
  • Use of BCMTA logo on individual web site and framed diploma for office use.
  • Inclusion on E-mail Newsletter classified listing of medical providers by specialty.
  • Articles published on the Web site News and Articles. Members are free to submit articles for publication providing educational and informative subjects. (No self promotion, but tag line will include short information and contact e-mail address.)
  • Legal Information – BCMTA can be connected with members in the legal field who are willing to assist other members and provide special pricing.
  • Research Reports, Studies and Information as obtained by BCMTA which constantly monitors and researches for such information of medical, equipment, supplies, medicines and business efficiency and trends.

BCMTA has two distinct functions:

ADVOCACY AND COLLECTIVE VOICE: BCTMA will strive to enhance the credibility, trust and confidence of the US consumer, private and public agencies regarding Baja California Medical community and medical services. BCMTA will work extensively with media and other groups promoting causes and postures of benefit to its membership, from speedier border crossing issues to image portrayals in the US media outlets. BCMTA will invite the Baja California Medical Clusters organized in each municipality to participate and have a voice “on this side of the border” with the credibility of a California non-profit association.

  • With constant press releases and news articles submitted to the Southern California, and Western neighboring states news media promoting BCMTA all members will gain by the constant promotion and advocacy for acceptance for the usage of medical services in Baja California.
  • BCMTA will constantly seek opportunities for association administrators and members to participate in radio and television interviews in Southern California.
  • BCMTA will work towards having more US health insurance companies recognize medical services offered by BCMTA medical provider members.
  • BCMTA will identify and negotiate preferential financing programs for patients using services from its members.
  • BCMTA will work with existing or create a BCMTA Medical Services Discount Card for distribution to the general public in the US Western States.
  • BCMTA will provide discounts on Mexican auto insurance policies, restaurants, hotels, chain markets, events and tours to promote further reasons for obtaining medical services in Baja California.
  • BCMTA will advocate before US and Mexican authorities to expedite border crossings.
  • BCMTA will obtain preferential booth pricing at health fairs and other events to promote medical services of individual participants.

  • Classified listing in the Baja Health Connection magazine
  • Other benefits as they are created and approved by the committees and Board.

  • Design and host web sites with state of the art award winning company.

  • Rent of e-mail list from BCMTA directory. (over 250,000 as of July 2009)
  • Spot ads on television programming on Baja health shown on cable networks.
  • Purchasing TV/Radio spot ads at wholesale prices for insertion on cable channels.
  • Production of TV/Radio commercials at discounted rates.
  • Expert Corporate video production and duplication into DVD at discount prices, including story board and script writing.
